Dania Beach is a coastal city in Broward County, just south of Fort Lauderdale and next to Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. The community traces its incorporation to 1904, making it one of Broward County’s oldest cities. It was first known as Modello and soon renamed Dania in recognition of the Danish settlers who helped establish the area; the city later adopted the name Dania Beach to highlight its Atlantic shoreline.
