Aventura is conveniently located between Miami and Fort Lauderdale and is about one mile west of the Atlantic Ocean. It is part of Miami Dade County. It is home to a population of about thirty seven thousand people of diverse cultures and with a very strong sense of community.
About The Community
Most of what is now the city of Aventura was planned during the 1970s by Turnberry International Realty as a high-rise residential area. Some of Miami’s tallest condominium towers are located there. Aventura covers an area of about 3.52 square miles and the city was incorporated in 1995. In recent years, the City of Aventura has adopted several initiatives aimed at reinforcing a strong sense of community. With the building of its first Charter School in 2003, the new Community Recreation Center, Veterans Park and Waterways Park, the City continues to grow and progress.

Getting around the city has been no problem at all since the Aventura Advantage shuttle bus service began operating in January 1999. The shuttle bus service is free and operates through the week except on Sundays. This resident friendly public transit service consists of four routes that connect retail, grocery and medical centers with a central transfer point at the Aventura Mall.
World class health services are available for the surrounding community at the Aventura Hospital and Medical Center. This state of the art 407 bed hospital provides acute care medical and surgical facility. The award winning inpatient and outpatient diagnostic, medical, surgical and cancer services have been available to the communities of northeast Miami-Dade and southeast Broward counties since 1965.
