Eustis, Florida has moved with the times and continues to do so. Most appropriately known as the “City of Bright Tomorrow”, despite its rich history, it looks forward to a better and brighter future. Located in Lake County, in the heart of central Florida, Eustis is midway between the two coasts and an hour’s drive from most of Florida’s great attractions, Orlando, Daytona, the Space Coast, and the Ocala National Forest. Eustis is nestled along the eastern shore of the seven thousand acre Lake Eustis and a more picturesque setting would be hard to find.

Eustis offers its twenty-one thousand residents a rural lifestyle with big-city amenities and opportunities such as major retail centers, diverse cultural events all year round, and plenty of recreation and entertainment. The city was incorporated in 1883 and extends over twelve square miles. The historical downtown area has continued to grow economically. What was once the Orange Capital of the World, offers diverse job opportunities today.
Its historical occupation is honored in The Citrus Museum, the only independent citrus museum in Florida. There is an excellent hospital and the Lake Technical College offers top-notch higher education.
Ferran Park is a popular local attraction on the shores of Lake Eustis. It is the oldest park in the area and offers numerous family recreational activities such as swimming, jogging trail, and shoreline fishing. The Alice McClelland Memorial bandshell is one of two in the state and entertains all ages. The bandshell, Palms House, and the Eustis Historical Museum (The Clifford House) are on to the National Register of Historic Places. The Clifford House was the imposing home built in 1910 by Mr. G. D. Clifford for his family on the shores of Lake Eustis. It was donated to the Eustis Historical Museum & Preservation Society by a descendant.

The locals are justifiably proud of Eustis’ beautiful lakefront walkway. Its wide concrete boardwalk is accented with red brick inlay and green gazebos dot the path, providing a quiet respite for walkers and anglers. The panoramic view and stunning sunsets over Lake Eustis are unforgettable. The walk provides convenient access to the downtown restaurants, stores, art museums, and community theater.
Florida’s oldest continuous festival, Washington’s Birthday Festival is held annually on the last weekend in February. The celebration includes a parade, crafts, food, sailing regatta, water ski show, children activities, and a carnival. Once a month downtown merchants host street parties and entertainment with music and dancing in the streets and at the bandshell. Locals and visitors make the most of the food and drink and browse through the local shops.
Eustis is a progressive city and provides its citizens and visitors a diversity of services to meet their needs.
