Doctors found this an ideal place for recovery centers on the shores of Lake Charm. The community was named Oviedo after a city and province in Spain.
The growth and development of Oviedo has been sporadic and every decade had its own pattern. During the 1960s, Oviedo saw new houses being built and a new high school and a shopping center were constructed.
